Friends of LLELA Update

June 4 th will be a big day at LLELA! Hope you can join us! The Friends of LLELA are joining forces with the LLELA staff and the City of Lewisville to host a special event celebrating National Trails Day. Start your summer outdoors with this fun family event! There will be activities for all ages including: guided trail tours, guided bird, butterfly, and wildflower walks, nature talks, a kids’ activity area, a kids’ fish, an Eco-Village with educational booths manned by local and national environmental groups and organizations, tours of the LLELA nursery, a native plant sale, and many, many other activities. We have a complete list and schedule of events on the Friends website: LLELAfriends.org  LLELA gates open at 7:00 a.m. ($5 per car unless you have a pass).

This event will be a big undertaking. Even though we have the support of the City we would welcome (read need) volunteers. If you can assist anytime between 8:30 and 3:00 it would be a great help. Please contact Martha (marthawpeet@gmail.com ) or Vicki (vickikeathley@gmail.com).

The next general meeting of Friends will be August 2. If you are not on our email list, and would like to be, please contact Martha.

Hope to see you June 4 th . (If you haven’t hiked the new Blackjack trail, or seen the nursery or pollinator garden, or had a nice chat with a Master Gardener, or want to know more about the Sierra Club or kayaking, come on out).
